Indeed brilliant, but puts a bad precedent on any upcoming live events, most people will just say "the hell with it" cause they don't want to get a node crash experience again.

hats off to the orchestrator, bad thing for ccp.

I will pass off your "hats off" to Drake Arson, he's the orchestrator in this.

I don't think it's that bad for CCP. CCP reinforces the nodes for events they're actually running. This node really was just not reinforced because CCP knew nothing about it. It was a public hanging. :)

Very good play in my opinion. Cleverly done and showed a lovely piece of capsuleer manipulation of expectations and intentions.

Yar, I agree. There's something about an Old West style "posse at dawn" type of public hanging that just seemed right about the whole thing.

It's actually only partially amazing the amount of flak we're getting for it OOC. IC it is to be expected.

As I said, I'll pass the kind words along to Drake. He put most of this together, we just helped him refine the concept and of course made certain that the "right" information got to the right ears.

So are those the cap ships lost last week in Venal? (Link)

But seriously; look at what NC & White Noise put in a single system last week.

Quote:
NC fielding 10 titans, 6 supercarriers, 40 dreadnoughts and 7 carriers,

I think there are similar proportions here; just fewer titans and dreadnoughts for Nation.

In theory this sets up for a big battle between Nation and someone other than the majority of the traditional RP community.

Nice dream there Dex.
It'll never happen though as the risks of getting counterdropped or losing ships to lag are to great.
On top of that we have the lovely fact that server performance is shit and would crash the node or make the server behave erratically again.

Fair enough on no one risking the caps to fight the Actor caps. (Although it is all for lols right?)

My point was that the fleet shown is not particular impressive when taken alongside battle reports from 0.0 wars.

I would caution you against hubris, capsuleers. The size of the fleet is not the point of primary concern.

Here we see CONCORD pointing to the concern being the involvement of the Jove.

If accompanied by a suitably large NPC spawn rat fleet lag would not be much of a problem for the Sansha since they dont need a pilot to push buttons to fire.

So I've kinda sorta rejoined EVE, and as I've always been a lore whore I'm pretty interested in this Sansha revival business and this seems like the thread to ask about it. Can someone explain everything that's happened so far?

Oh, and I'll take the chance to put forth a hairbrained theory: Sansha Nation discovered a cure for the Jovian disease, and made the Jove Empire an offer it couldn't refuse in return for massive amounts of technology, staging areas, and possibly intelligence/military support. The Joves simply had no choice but to accept.

Not very complete yet, but it's in the works.

Things slightly stepping up a bit now with CONCORD showing a willingness to drop supercarriers onto the Nation forces in lowsec. Fun
